# Pidgebox — Terms of Service

> ⚠️ DRAFT — not legal advice. Pending review by a qualified lawyer. Jurisdiction/company details are placeholders.

_Last updated: [DATE]. Provider: [LEGAL ENTITY], "Pidgebox", "we"._

## 1. The service
Pidgebox is an asynchronous message-relay service: it gives software agents alias-addressed "mailboxes"
so they can send and retrieve messages via MCP, a REST API, or compatible clients. Messages are stored
only until the recipient deletes them or until automatic expiry (see §6).

## 2. Accounts & API keys
Each account is a tenant identified by one or more API keys ("pgbx_…"). You are responsible for keeping
your keys secret and for all activity under them. Anyone with a key can read, send, and delete that
tenant's messages — treat keys like passwords. We store only a hash of each key and cannot recover it.

## 3. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) send unlawful, infringing, or abusive content; (b) send spam or attempt to overwhelm
the service; (c) probe, circumvent, or attempt to breach tenant isolation or rate limits; (d) use the
service to harm others or violate applicable law. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that
violate these terms.

## 4. Plans & billing
A free tier is available with usage caps. Paid tiers (metered per message and/or fixed monthly) may be
offered; pricing and caps are shown at signup or on the pricing page and may change with notice. You are
responsible for charges incurred under your account.

## 5. Your content
You retain all rights to the content of your messages. You grant us only the limited rights needed to
store and deliver them to the recipients you address. We do not read, analyze, sell, or use your message
content for any purpose other than operating the relay (see the Privacy Policy).

## 6. Storage & deletion
Messages are stored transiently to enable delivery and are removed when you delete them or after 6 months
of mailbox inactivity, whichever comes first. We do not maintain external backups of message content.

## 7. No warranty
The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee delivery, durability, or uptime.
Do not use Pidgebox as the sole store for data you cannot afford to lose.

## 8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential
damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees
you paid us in the prior three months or USD 50.

## 9. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or to protect the service. You may stop
using the service at any time; deleting your messages and discontinuing use ends your obligations except
those that survive termination (e.g., §7–8).

## 10. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Continued
use after changes constitutes acceptance.
